Will Walden is a Research Scientist at the Human Language Technology Center of Excellence. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Rochester, where he was a member of the FACTSlab and was advised by Aaron Steven White. Before that, he received a B.A. in Computer Science from Bowdoin College and subsequently worked as a software engineer at Okta in San Francisco. His primary research interests are in event understanding, broadly construed: what events are, how humans conceptualize them, and how to extract useful representations of them from text. He is also interested in information extraction more generally and in summarization.
