Associate Research Professor, Applied Mathematics & Statistics
Dr. Donniell Fishkind is an Associate Research Professor and is Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University, where he has been on the faculty since the year 2000. He is interested in linear algebra and graph theory. Particular recent projects of his include graph matching, random graph models for social networks, probabilistic path planning, and graph-based topology correction in medical imaging.
He is also the academic director for the Johns Hopkins Scheduling Group which, among other projects, uses combinatorial optimization to create and optimize league season schedules for many of the leagues in Minor League Baseball. He is also a very active lecturer, having taught over 5000 students in over 100 courses (as of the year 2017).
