HLTCOE Researchers win the VoicePrivacy Challenge 2024 Best Paper Award

A team of researchers from the HLTCOE and first author, JHU student Henry Li Xinyan, were named winners of the 3rd VoicePrivacy Challenge Best Paper award. The paper describing their submission to the 2024 VoicePrivacy Challenge exposed a simple but novel means to control privacy and utility tradeoffs while defeating Automatic Speaker Verification (ASV) attack models via random admixture of speech anonymization systems. The 2024 VoicePrivacy Challenge workshop, held in conjunction with the Symposium on Security and Privacy in Speech Communications (SPCS), was a satellite event of Interspeech 2024 in Kos, Greece.
